In this engineering experimentation project, my teammates and I designed and fabricated a versatile torsion rig using a repurposed lathe base to measure the relationship between torque, strain, and angular deflection across shafts of various materials and geometries. We implemented a dual-pulley system to apply pure torque and integrated a 120-ohm shear strain gauge with MPU6050 accelerometers to collect real-time data through a custom Arduino and DAQ interface.
